Abarth Australia has announced a strictly limited number of special-edition 695 hatchbacks will be available here in celebration of the brand’s motorsport history.
Based on the Italian manufacturer’s current Abarth 595 Competizione hatch, the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario is presented in green Monza 1958 livery – a tribute to the colour of the first Abarth 500 that set six international records at Monza the same year.
Other exterior colour options include Pista Grey, Gara White, Scorpione Black and Podium Blue.
A total of 1949 units will be available globally – just 40 of those reserved for Australia, priced from $44,950 plus on-road costs.
The pièce de résistance – a manually-adjustable rear spoiler that Abarth says was designed by its engineers in the FCA wind tunnel in Orbassano, Italy – can be moved to 12 different positions between zero and 60 degrees.
Other exclusive features include a racy Monza exhaust, a body kit with Campovolo grey accents and red Brembo brake callipers peeking out of 17-inch SuperSport alloy wheels.
Also featured is a chequered roof, 70° Anniversario badging (inside and out) and scorpion bonnet decals, while xenon headlights, LED fog lights and rain-sensing wipers are also standard.
Inside the cabin, the Abarth 695 70° Anniversario gets exclusive Sabelt Tricolore seats, a numbered ID badge as well as a 7.0-inch infotainment unit with navigation, digital radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Available for delivery now, the special-edition Fiat 500-based hatch is powered an unchanged 134kW/250Nm 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
Buyers can choose from either a manual transmission (standard with limited-slip differential) or a dualogic automated manual at no extra cost.
