ABDC: Australia's Best Driver's Car returns for 2018

Australia’s premiere performance car test returns for 2018 – Australia’s Best Driver’s Car starts here!

Now in its fourth year, the popularity of motoring.com.au’s Australia’s Best Driver’s Car (ABDC) award continues to grow.

The award attracts the interest of car enthusiasts the world over, Australia’s premiere performance car comparison previously awarding the Porsche Cayman GTS (2015), BMW M2 (2016) and HSV GTSR W1 (2017) as winners.

Beginning today, the 2018 ABDC awards will again seek to determine the most dynamic and involving driver’s car available in Australia.

Testing will again comprise acceleration performance data, on-track dynamic evaluation and timing, and, crucially, a week-long drive that will again take in some of the greatest driving roads in the Victorian High Country – a new location for this year’s event.

As well as our regular senior road test team, we also welcome back the racers charged with extracting on-track times at ABDC: Bathurst-winning V8 Supercar driver, Luke Youlden, and multiple Targa Tasmania winner, Greg Crick.

As always, eligible vehicles are price-capped at $250,000 (MRLP). All cars must be available to the mass market, meaning no kit cars or special imports are permitted.

There will be only one winner.

This year, motoring.com.au has decided on a field of 14 performance cars, the value of which totals almost $1.35 million.

Congratulations to the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV for taking out the top prize on the 2018 running of Australia's Best Driver's Car.
