ABDC: The countdown clock is ticking
Thirteen cars, 16,000kms, Tasmania, and only one winner…It doesn't matter if you're a rear-drive muscle car fan, a front-drive hot hatch tragic or an AWD aficionado, the 2016 running of Australia's Best Driver's Car has you covered.
The usual research and analytical rigour we employ on our regular reviews and comparisons is out the window – ABDC is all about the how the car makes you feel when you’re behind the wheel. This mega test that logs a total of over 16,000km on some of Australia’s best roads is simply about the vehicle purity… How car and driver connect.
After our very wet but very enjoyable inaugural event, ABDC 2015, we can happily say the Tasmanian weather was much kinder in 2016 which made for some incredible footage… and driving – as you can see in our teaser video.
So get ready, because beginning in earnest on Monday, May 9 when we introduce ABDC competitors, eligibility criteria, the chosen test grounds and, of course, how much coffee was needed to fuel the judges, support team and film crew through a week of excitement. Then over the following six days we will countdown our way to the car judged by our experts to be Australia's Best Driver's Car.
