Organisers of the upcoming 2022 VALO Adelaide 500 will commemorate the Holden brand’s last Supercars race around the streets of the South Australian capital by hosting the Holden Tribute Cruise on Saturday, December 3.
A cavalcade of several hundred Holdens will pay tribute to the now-defunct General Motors brand by travelling from GM’s former Elizabeth factory to the Victoria Parklands street circuit.
Tickets for the Holden Tribute Cruise were released this morning (September 27) at 9:00am ACST and all Holden owners are encouraged to secure their place in the convoy to the Adelaide 500.

Also celebrating the iconic Australian marque at the Adelaide 500 will be a display of 33 special Holden vehicles from throughout its history.
The Holden homage will culminate in Supercars legend Craig Lowndes completing a lap of honour at the city of churches event behind the wheel of a treasured Holden vehicle, with South Australian premier Peter Malinauskas as his passenger.
“This is an outstanding way to pay tribute to a South Australian icon, as the Holden brand bids farewell to Supercars,” said Malinauskas.

“It is fitting Holden’s final race will be at the Adelaide street circuit and the Holden Tribute Cruise will give Holden fans a chance to commemorate this historic occasion.”
Lowndes, who passed every car on the grid to win the inaugural Adelaide 500 in 1999, said it was a special honour to be part of the historic Holden tribute.
“Holden has been such a strong, iconic brand in Australia, I'm very proud to have won all three of my Supercars championships in a Holden, as well as four Bathurst 1000s,” he said.
“The Lion has been a huge part of my life in both my career and personally.

“I am honoured and humbled to give Holden the send-off they deserve in Adelaide, where they have seen so much success over the years both on and off the track.”
To be part of the Holden Tribute Cruise at the VALO Adelaide 500, Holden car owners can simply purchase any Saturday ticket option via Ticketek and follow the prompts to add the Holden Tribute Cruise to their package for $25.
Holden owners that have already purchased tickets to the VALO Adelaide 500 and want to be part of the Holden Tribute Cruise can upgrade their ticket Ticketek once tickets are released today.

In addition to taking part in the motorcade, participants will gain access to parking inside the event precinct on Saturday and Sunday.
With track resurfacing now complete, preparations are well underway for the VALO Adelaide 500 on December 1-4.
More than 60 per cent of grandstand seats have already been sold and tickets for the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship season finale are now on sale via Ticketek.
