How to drive in dusty conditions
Outback travel isn’t without its hazards, here’s how to drive more safely in the dustDriving on the unsealed roads of the Australian Outback is a unique experience topped with a number of hazards unique to this part of the world. Among them is driving in fine, powdery dust, often known as ‘bull dust’, which tends to become suspended in the air for an extended period creating a visual obstruction for vehicles following one another, or coming the other way. It’s an unavoidable fact of Outback travel, but one that with a few pointers needn’t be as dangerous as it may seem.
