Aftermarket auto expo confirmed for 2019

Traditional motor shows may be on the decline globally as car-makers embrace more affordable and more effective local and digital solutions, but there's still plenty on offer for car buffs who want to see the latest trends in car accessories, electronics, upgrades and mods.

Take for example the 2019 Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo, which has been locked and loaded for next April 4-6 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Australia’s biggest automotive trade exhibition will feature static and interactive displays from more than 400 Australian and international automotive components suppliers plus workshop and accessory brands.

While the Aussie aftermarket is tiny compared to the USA, the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association estimates the industry to be worth $11 billion per year, with exports of more than $800 billion, providing for more than 40,000 jobs.

According to organisers more than 90 per cent of the 21,000 square metres of exhibit space has already been filled with everything from aftermarket wheels to suspension components, powertrain upgrades and interior solutions.

Manufacturers, remanufacturers, distributors, importers, resellers, retailers and consultants in the auto industry are expected to attend.

As well as hundreds of aftermarket product experts and automotive repairers who will explain the ins and outs of their products and services, there is also an expo seminar program designed to engage repairers, resellers, technicians, business owners and managers across numerous categories.

According to organisers, the no-cost informative seminars are always a popular and an integral part of each expo.

"This Expo has truly become world-class in terms of its presentation and professionalism," said Brydon Tweddell, spokesperson for Monroe Shock Absorbers, one of the major corporate sponsors of the event.

"Gaining face to face access with so many of our trade customers at the one event is an invaluable marketing benefit that develops strong, long term business relationships," he said.

Like North America’s Specialty Equipment Manufacturer Association (SEMA) Show, which is held in Las Vegas every November, Australia’s AAA Expo is technically only open to members of the trade, but as we know from SEMA, members of the public usually find a way to get in.
