Renault's all-new Laguna and the sporting variant of the third-generation Clio were confirmed for Australia, at AIMS. The two fresh models were the centre of attention on the French marque's Sydney stand.
The Laguna (more here) will enter an increasingly busy medium car segment and duke it out with the likes of Skoda's Octavia, Ford's Mondeo and the other usual suspects, when it arrives Down Under, in the middle of next year.
Renault Australia has had an 'on-again, off-again' relationship with the new Clio III. Smaller than the Megane, the latest generation of the Clio has yet to make a viable business case Down Under -- at least in its more mainstream variants.
The RenaultSport version is a very different kettle of fish. Set to swell the hot hatch ranks, Renault will sell the Clio III RenaultSport 197 (more here) against its Megane hotties.
Renault Australia says the car will also arrive in the middle of 2008.
