‘Motion and Emotion’ comes to the Peugeot RCZ with a revised version of the sporty coupe introduced at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.
The French brand says its facelifted RCZ Coupe will increase the brand’s emotional power; the updated RCZ sporting a freshened front fascia, sculpted similarly to that of the new 208 hatch range.
The RCZ’s new grille, revised LED running lamps and reshaped headlamps were first spotted at the Paris Motor Show just last month and join new interior colour options, 19-inch alloy wheels and a range of personalisation options.
With greater boot space, the RCZ also scores new equipment, including an acoustic (thicker) windscreen, rain-sensing wipers, dusk-sensing headlamps, an electro-chromatic rear-view mirror, guide-me-home lighting, and an enhanced RT6 navigation system sourced from big brother, the 508.
Engine wise, the RCZ remains unchanged using the same 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder it shares with MINI Cooper S and, of course, the gutsy 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel. Pricing for either variant is expected to be $54,990.
The revised RCZ is expected to hit local showrooms in late March 2013 ahead of a busy model year for the brand.
Speaking at AIMS, Peugeot Australia managing director Bill Gillespie said we can expect at least four new models by the end of next year.
“In 2013 we’ll launch the new RCZ you see here and an all-new entrant to the SUV range, the 2008. Another all new model in 408 plus we’ll release 5008, said Mr Gillespie. “And on top of that, the much anticipated return of Peugeot hot hatches with the launch of the exciting new 208 GTI in July of next year.”
