AIMS: Subaru BRZ track ready with STI concept

Subaru’s stunning BRZ has been dressed to the nines for the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.

Revealed with a distinctive array of Subaru Tecnica International (STI) and performance parts and accessories the BRZ on show gives customers an idea of just how to personalise their own pride and joy.

Externally, the catalogue of components includes a front under lip spoiler, side skirts, boot lip spoiler, flexible tower bar, blackened wheel nuts, 17-inch alloys, revised coil springs, a rear under diffuser and sports muffler.

While on the inside, the BRZ is kitted out with a quick-shift gear lever, sports gear knob, push-button starter and revised instrument panel trim.

“All indications are that many BRZ buyers want to add some performance touches to their cars and choosing genuine Subaru equipment offers great design, quality and peace-of-mind that aren’t necessarily guaranteed by after-market suppliers.” said Subaru Australia’s managing director Nick Senior.

STI performance products will be available in retailers from next month, and will be available for viewing on-line shortly at subaru.com.au

Joining the “every-day” BRZ is a track-ready coupe Subaru says is one of the year’s most anticipated motorsport packages.

This potent creation comes from long-term Subaru partner and New Zealand rally icon Possum Bourne Motor Sport (PBMS).

The PBMS catalogue for the Subaru BRZ allows customers to pick and choose components that suit their racing purposes, as well as offering three specific track packages.

The entry-level package includes a roll cage kit (including installation), Recaro motorsport seats, Sabelt six-point harness, a race-modified fuel system and a collection of lightweight carbon fibre parts, including door panels.

An upscale package -- the one disaplyed at AIMS -- adds driveline and suspension modifications, including Cusco height and damper adjustable coilover suspension, upgraded AP brake rotors and calipers, an STI handbrake, revised electrical kit with a lightweight battery, a Recaro winged HANS driver’s seat, and Enkei 18x8.0-inch lightweight alloy wheels shod with motorsport-spec Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tyres.

Finally, a third option includes engine and gearbox enhancements which PMBS says are “priced to suit individual requirements”.

PBMS has developed packages that will appeal to these enthusiasts.
