Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio mark Quadrifoglio century

Special-editions based on the 2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio have been introduced to celebrate 100 years of the famous green four-leaf clover badge.

Limited to just 100 units globally per car, the headline news is the limited-run Alfa Quadrifoglio 100th Anniversario twins both gain more powerful versions of their already-punchy twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6, with outputs boosted from 375kW to 383kW.

To cope, the limited-editions gain a mechanical rear limited-slip differential to help replicate the handling and agility of the hardcore 397kW Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA.

Reflecting their exclusivity, the anniversary models come with commemorative QV badges with gold accents, gold brake callipers, a front grille and mirror caps made from carbon-fibre and special alloy wheels that are 19-inch for the Giulia sedan and 21-inch for the Stelvio.

Inside, the centenary-marking Alfa specials get Alcantara seats with gold stitching, carbon-fibre trim and unique badging.

Prices and country allocations are yet to be announced but expect a premium over the $151,700 charged for the Giulia Quadrifoglio and the $160,700 it costs to snap up the Stelvio Quadrifoglio (both plus on-road costs).

Tracing its history back to 1923, the four-leaf clover badge first appeared on an Alfa RL that won the Targa Florio in Sicily.

It wasn’t until 1963 the lucky charm appeared on the first road car, the Giulia TI Super that was actually a road-legal touring car racer.
