Pictures of the all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia’s interior have surfaced online ahead of its official launch at the Frankfurt motor show.
At the same time, our spy shooters have snapped the standard Giulia in testing, providing our first look at the mainstream version of Alfa's crucial new mid-size sedan, which has so far only been seen in top-shelf QV form.
While the QV features an aggressive sports body kit that's even expected to comprise active aero elements, this garden-variety variant spied near the Nürburgring appears to lose the QV's ventilated bonnet, front air splitter, black bootlid spoiler, chunky rear bumper, sporty side skirts an big alloy wheels.
And of course, while the Giulia QV is expected to pack a 380kW V6 and sprint to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds in its bid to rival BMW's M3, lesser variants like this should be powered by turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel four-cylinder engines, though a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel could also be offered.
Meantime, while the Italian car-maker has so far only given us a teasing glimpse of how it will challenge rivals like the 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and Jaguar XE for cabin design and quality, these images provide our first full glimpse of a near-production spec car inside.
The images, which appeared on an Italian Alfa fan’s Facebook page, show what's believed to be the range-topping QV's cabin, which mixes black leather, Alcantara and plenty of carbon-fibre with bucket seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
The centre console, meanwhile, is positioned within a clean, logical dash layout and shows off Alfa’s new touch-screen infotainment system.
Alfa Romeo is expected to release full official interior pics and full specifications for all Giulia models at this September’s Frankfurt motor show.
Australians will have to wait much longer for delivery, however, with right-hand drive production now not beginning until the second half of 2016.
