Alfa Romeo teases classic Duetto Spider-inspired 4C

Italian car-maker’s most iconic '60s roadster to rub off on limited-edition sports car

Alfa Romeo has released a short video teaser that previews a new limited-edition 4C Spider that’s said to be inspired by the 50-year-old Duetto Spider.

It’s not yet known how the modern car will draw influence from the small roadster that first went on sale in 1966 and was famed for its appearance in the movie, The Graduate.

Under the skin, the 4C's standard 177kW/350Nm 1.75-litre turbo-petrol engine and dual-clutch automatic transmission are expected to carry over unchanged.

Expect Alfa Romeo to tease the 4C Spider limited-edition at least once more before its expected public unveiling at the Geneva motor show in March.
