Alfa Spider for Geneva
Alfa will unveil a new Spider at the Geneva Motor Show later this month...Alfa Romeo will unveil its new Spider at the Geneva Motor Show later this month.
The curvaceous convertible two-seater will be available in 2.2-litre four and 3.2-litre six-cylinder versions and will go on sale in Australia in 2007.
One of motoring's most famous open-top model names of all time, the new Spider draws heavily on the company's much-admired Brera coupe. The front end of the new car is pure Brera, if not in the metal, then in look and feel.
At the rear there's new bodywork with integrated roll hoops, classy elongated rear lights and, AMG and M-style, four exhaust pipes.
The Alfa is expected to feature a 'soft' convertible top, as opposed to the folding steel items of the likes of Benz's SLK and Peugeot's CC models.
The interior of the Alfa Spider is plush with lashings of leather and a full compliment of safety and comfort items. Under the skin, suspension is all-independent and Alfa's Q4 all-wheel drive system is available on the V6-powered model.
