All-new 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S EV leaked

Jeep’s ballistic new battery-electric coupe-style SUV surfaces in social media blunder

Jeep has accidentally posted images of its all-new 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S on its social media accounts, revealing the stylish coupe-style SUV in full ahead of its launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

Posting two pictures of the production-ready Jeep Wagoneer S on Facebook, parent Stellantis soon realised the mistake and the images were taken down – but not before Mopar Insiders got the chance to download them.

Remaining faithful to the stunning 2022 concept, the production-spec Wagoneer S gets smooth side surfaces, flush glass, larger squared-off wheel-arches and rakish rear lines.

The only changes include new badging along the door and a set of smaller wheels but, overall, the US brand’s take on an upsized Range Rover Velar impresses.

Already locked in for Australia, possibly before the end of this year but perhaps most likely in the first half of 2025, Jeep has also confirmed the Wagoneer S will also keep the concept’s mighty 447kW dual-motor powertrain that will enable it to sprint from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in just 3.5 seconds.

There’s no word on driving range, but the show car was said to be able to cover around 650km on a single charge, thanks in part to its sleek, aerodynamic styling. We expect the same for the production version.

Key to its long range will be an all-new 118kWh lithium-ion battery and the efficiencies brought by the Stellantis group’s latest STLA Large EV architecture.

Even though it will be underpinned by a car-like monocoque chassis rather than a more rugged ladder frame, we expect the Wagoneer S will still carry Jeep’s Trail Rated certification, ensuring it will be among the best in class when it comes to off-road capability.

As well as height-adjustable air springs, expect Jeep’s SUV-coupe to get new hardware like limited-slip differentials and advanced torque vectoring.

Even though it employs the Wagoneer name from Jeep’s big seven-seat SUV, the sportier S version is actually a much smaller car and closer in proportion to the Jeep Grand Cherokee L.

Both the Jeep Wagoneer S and more rugged Recon that’s also powered by an all-electric powertrain will be offered to Australian buyers, so stand by for further details as they come to hand.

In the US, the Jeep Wagoneer S is tipped to be priced from $US80,000 to $US100,000 ($A122,000-$A153,000).
