The all-electric 2025 Audi A6 e-tron Sportback and Avant wagon have been teased ahead of their reveal later tonight (July 31) in Europe.
Posting a fresh teaser of Audi’s new rival for the BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE, the Audi A6 e-tron looks like it will come with both a full-width LED light bar and an illuminated four-ring badge on the tailgate.
Up front, the A6 e-tron will feature a pair of ultra-slim Matrix LED headlights that will feature customisable daytime running lamps.
Last month, carsales revealed that the battery-electric A6 should top the class for range, with the Sportback version potentially travelling more than 800km before needing to recharge.
Based on the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture as the Audi Q6 e-tron SUV, the electric A6 is expected to come with a 100kWh lithium-ion battery that in the SUV provides for a range of well over 600km.
To ensure its class-best boast, the A6 e-tron sits much lower than the Q6 e-tron and gets wind-cheating aids like active aero and rear-view cameras instead of traditional door mirrors.
As well as being capable of travelling long distances, the Audi A6 e-tron will share the Q6 e-tron’s 800-volt electrical system that will allow the battery pack to be charged at up to 270kW.
We expect a 10-80 per cent top-up to take around 20 minutes.
When it comes to powertrain options, expect the entry-level version in the line-up to have a rear-mounted e-motor that will produce around 240kW and be available with either an 83kWh (77kWh useable) or the bigger 100kWh (94.9kWh useable) power pack.
At least two dual-motor/all-wheel drive versions could be available – one with 285kW and another with 380kW that will be badged the S6 e-tron.
Later on, an RS 6 e-tron may also be introduced, producing more than 470kW.
What will be missing from the A6 e-tron line-up is a traditional sedan, with the three-box body type dropped as buyers steer towards the Sportback and Avant.
Stay tuned as full details will be revealed late tonight.
