Porsche’s Turbo and Turbo S variants have long represented the pinnacle of the German performance vehicle brand’s various model lines in terms of outright firepower, performance and positioning, and soon they’ll be more recognisable on the street courtesy of an exclusive new trim finish.
The new trim has been dubbed ‘Turbonite’ and it will be reserved exclusively for future Turbo and Turbo S models, specifically being applied to all the Porsche logos inside and out, as well as trim strips, seatbelt straps, drive mode switches and air-conditioning panels.
Cars specified with a black interior will also feature Turbonite seat, door trim, instrument panel and floor mat stitching.
“Turbo has become a synonym for our top models and is now more or less a brand of its own,” Style Porsche vice-president Michael Mauer said.
“We now want to make the Turbo even more visible and differentiate it more markedly from other derivatives such as the GTS.”
“From now on, the Turbo versions will exhibit a consistent appearance across all model lines – one that is elegant, high-quality and very special.”
Porsche designers waxed lyrical about the composition and elements of the new finish but the end result is a fetching dark metallic grey.
The first model to debut the new finish will be the flagship 2024 Porsche Panamera limousine due for reveal on November 24, when the line-up is expected to largely mirror that of the Porsche Cayenne large SUV.
