Alpine has pulled the drapes off a special limited-run Alpine A110 J Redele model that celebrates the sports car brand’s founder, Jean Redele, who was born 100 years ago.
Unveiling the 2022 Alpine A110 GT J Redele at an enthusiasts’ gathering at the car-maker’s Dieppe headquarters in France, the company said all 100 of the commemorative coupes would be based on the Alpine A110 GT and painted Montebello Grey – a colour Redele was fond of.
Combined with a gloss black roof, the Redele A110 edition also gets black 18-inch wheels, silver brake callipers and a black leather interior with grey stitching.
Under the rear boot lid, the A110 GT’s turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine carries over unchanged and remains combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends all its power to the rear wheels.
Following on from last year’s facelift, that means the A110 GT J Redele produces 221kW and 340Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100km/h dash of just 4.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250km/h.
As well as the cabin upgrades, each A110 GT J Redele come with plaque numbered from 1 to 100 that also features a small signature of Jean Redele, who died in August 2007, aged 85.
In Europe, the special Alpine A110 J Redele is priced from €83,000 ($A125,000).
At the Dieppe enthusiasts’ meet, which attracted more than 1100 Alpine cars, the Renault-owned performance brand gave car number 1 to the Alpine founder’s wife, Michelle Redele.
Leading a procession of both old and new Alpines was this year’s A522 Formula 1 car.
