Honda's light car favourite upgraded for 2011 with more equipment, better safety and refreshed stylingTen years after its initial debut, Honda's popular Jazz light hatch has received another significant facelift.
The 2011 model builds on the strengths of the second-generation model, introduced in Australia in August of 2008, adding LED tail lamps and a sporty, mesh-style grille Honda says is shaped to resemble a 'happy face'. Two new colours – Polished Metal and Fresh Lime Green – have also been added to the palette.
Inside, the refreshed Jazz scores a new satin finish centre dash panel, which houses the audio and HVAC systems, as well as a multi-information display within the speedometer containing vital trip computer info. Bluetooth telephony and USB audio connectivity are also offered as standard for the first time.
Powertrain line ups remain unchanged with the choice of 1.3 and 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engines available, depending on variant.
Other model-specific changes see the mid-spec Jazz VTi receive revised bumpers, side skirts, fog lamps, grille, cruise control and newly styled 15-inch alloy wheels (with matching full-size spare). Top-spec Jazz VTi-S adds a tailgate spoiler and 16-inch alloys while also being reduced in price by $1000.
Like all Jazz models, safety equipment includes anti-lock brakes with brake assist, stability control, six airbags and seat belt reminders for all passengers. The Jazz is awarded a five-star ANCAP rating.
