The 1 Series Coupé has become one of BMW's more successful small car models, since its local launch in 2008, selling a cumulative 2900 units.
Now, the range is joined by a new petrol-powered model, the BMW 120i Coupé, which retails from $47,400.
Powered by a 115kW four-cylinder engine, the BMW 120i Coupé joins its 123d, 125i and 135i M Sport Coupé models as the new entry level contender, while still delivering a high level of specification.
Included on the 120i Coupé spec sheet are standard 17-inch alloy wheels, sports leather seats and steering wheel, cruise control, rear parking sensors, foglamps, ambient lighting package, 60:40 split-fold rear seats, rain sensing wipers, Bluetooth telephony and a six-speaker audio package with USB connectivity.
Of course, BMW's full complement of active and passive safety equipment are offered as standard.
BMW dealers are now taking orders for the BMW 120i Coupé with the first cars arriving in showrooms from May.
