Another facelift for Audi Q7 coming

Russian renders and spy pics of a lightly camouflaged prototype reveal another upgraded version of seven-seat SUV

There’s yet another upgrade coming for the evergreen Audi Q7 and judging by the modest amount of camouflage adorning this recently spied prototype, the facelifted large luxury SUV isn’t too far from its global reveal.

It’s clear Audi isn’t trying especially hard to hide the identity of the masked development vehicle pictured here making its way along a main thoroughfare in Europe, although the focused camo gives us a pretty good impression as to where and what the design changes will be.

Unsurprisingly, there’ll be tweaked front and rear bumpers, plus new headlights, tail-lights and side skirts, along with an almost obligatory refresh of its alloy wheel designs.

Little to no changes are anticipated to be made under the bonnet to any of the Audi Q7 powertrains available here, which at this stage comprise a pair of 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6s, a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 and a twin-turbo 4.0-litre petrol V8.

Odds are the Audi Q7’s interior will be spruced up with some more refined cabin materials, an upgraded infotainment and/or some sharpened graphics for the various widescreen displays.

We obviously can’t see the cabin in this particular batch of spy shots, but we can give you a better idea of what the facelifted Q7’s exterior could look like come its global reveal later this year or early in 2024.

The unofficial preview comes courtesy of Russian outlet Kolesa.ru, which has rendered up its own idea as to what the German car-maker’s flagship seven-seater will look like once the covers come off, with the short answer being crisper and sportier.

All of the Q7’s key front and rear lines have been sharpened around the redesigned ‘singleframe’ grille, enlarged headlights and sharper rear lighting signature, including the bumpers, air intakes and outlets (rear).

This will be the second ‘mid-life’ update for the current-generation Audi Q7 – which launched in 2015 – as Audi tries to prolong its showroom tenure out to 2026, at which point an all-new and perhaps all-electric version will be revealed and released.
