Burns & Co Auctions has announced some of the headline lots of the Echuca National Holden Motor Museum Auction, which will be held on the site of the recently closed museum next month.
The auction will be split over two days, with the first day (May 18) dedicated to offloading ‘shop stock’ including signage, genuine GMH workshop fittings, motors, gearboxes, static displays, prototypes, display cabinets, model cars, car manuals, museum displays, flags and the like.
“Many items will be ‘one-offs’ and, put simply, never available again for sale,” the auction house said.
“Many items have been rescued from the Holden manufacturing plants and dealerships scattered across the country. This is a catalogue not to be missed!”
But day two will be when the big guns come up for grabs and the museum’s star attractions go under the hammer, many of which will be offered without reserve.
Examples of this Holden royalty include an FX, FJ, HR, HK Monaro, HQ Sandman, Torana, HQ GTS Monaro 350 Coupe, Brougham, HSV90 Statesman and an ultra-rare HJ Statesman Coupe.
There’ll be myriad other four-wheeled offerings as well as “a good spread” of classic and vintage motorcycles totalling well over 50 lots.
Those keen on a pre-auction look at their next potential purchase can attend a series of inspection days spanning May 12-17, or simply turn up first thing in the morning on the days of the auctions, both of which get under way from 9:00am.
The Echuca National Holden Motor Museum was said to have been the longest continuously-running Holden museum in the country until its closure on April 15, following the tragic announcement in January.
