Aston Martin has announced it will release two special 007 Edition models in celebration of the latest James Bond film, No Time To Die.
Built by the British luxury car-maker’s bespoke Q division, limited numbers of the exclusive models will be available, each fitted with a range of special features to pay homage to the 007 franchise.
The first to celebrate the 25th instalment in the James Bond series is the Vantage 007 Edition, finished in a Cumberland Grey hue and limited to just 100 units globally.
Inside the cabin, the Vantage gets obsidian black leather upholstery with heritage fluting and carbon-fibre seat backs, as well as a 007-branded centre console (on manual versions).
The sun visors have 96.60 (FM) embroidered onto them, which Aston Martin says fans will know is a nod to the Russian police frequency Bond used to escape in The Living Daylights film.
Other features can be optioned to the Vantage 007 Edition, including a laser-etched gadget plaque that “references the various weapons and devices seen on the original film car” such as a rocket motor, missiles, lasers, a targeting display and ski outriggers.
The second model, based on the brand’s V12-powered DBS Superleggera, will be limited to just 25 examples globally.
Powered the same 533kW/900Nm 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 found in road-going versions, the Superleggera is painted a similar Ceramic Grey colour and features black-tinted carbon-fibre on the roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser and rear Aeroblade II.
A chrome/black 007 badge is fitted to both front guards, while the special sports car rides on gloss-black diamond-turned Y-Spoke 21-inch wheels.
Inside, the 007 DBS Superleggera features red highlights throughout the leather upholstery, 007 branding on the door cards, armrest buckle badge and rear subwoofer cover, and a numbered identification plaque.
“Creating a 007 Edition is always an exciting challenge as we work to develop and style a car that embodies the legend of James Bond,” says Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Vice President.
“It is an honour to apply carefully judged 007-inspired styling to our sports cars, which gives our customers the opportunity to own a unique piece of both cinematic and automotive history.”
Aston Martin says deliveries of the special-edition Bond models will begin in the first quarter of 2021. Pricing for the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition is tipped to start from around $A500,000, with the 007 Vantage likely to open at about $293K.
