Aston Martin’s all-new replacement for the DB9 sports car has been the victim of a third leak ahead of its official reveal at the Geneva motor show.
The new car, called the DB11, is clearly inspired by the ultra-limited-run DB10 that was built for the most recent James Bond movie and looks identical to the image leaked by Dutch car blog Autojunk.nl two weeks ago and these latest spy shots.
It’s not known where the new image, posted by Twitter user @RubyB001, was taken but the undisguised DB11 is thought to have been snapped at a secret VIP event held recently in London.
Interestingly, the new image shows off the 2+2 coupe’s ultra-bright LED daytime running lights that are incorporated within the Aston’s front headlamps.
Under the skin, we already know the new DB11 is based on the car-maker’s next-gen platform architecture that will underpin all its future new models.
Meanwhile, beneath the bonnet is a new range of engines with the DB11 introducing both the company’s new 450kW 5.2-litre turbocharged V12 engine and the Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8.
Both engines are expected to be offered with a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic.
Thanks to the same technical partnership that allows the German car-maker to supply engines to the small British sports car-maker, Aston Martin will also benefit from the latest Mercedes-Benz safety and infotainment systems, and even the ‘virtual dashboard’ that’s used on its range-topping vehicles.
More is expected to be revealed closer to the Geneva show on March 1.
