Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato revealed

Aston Martin has released the first set of images of its new DBS GT Zagato, a limited-run reclothed DBS Superleggera designed by famous Italian styling house, Zagato.

Marking almost 60 years of collaboration between Aston Martin and Zagato, the Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato will be limited to just 19 cars with each car priced at a lofty £6 million ($A11m), plus local taxes.

Taking some sting out of the purchase price, buyers of the Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato will also be thrown the keys to a sublime DB4 GT Zagato Continuation model for free.

The two-for-one purchase is apt, because the new ultra-limited Aston is said to borrow its styling cues directly from the original DB4 GT Zagato.

That's why it shares the original's double-bubble roof , wraparound front screen, muscular rear haunches and more rakish styling.

Other differences from the regular Superleggera it's based include its a new front grille and a set of redesigned rims.

Beneath the skin, the DBS GT Zagato is unchanged from the Superleggera and comes with the twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 that pushes out at 533kW and 900Nm of torque.

The track-only Aston DB4 GT, meanwhile, will come with the original 3.7-litre inline six-cylinder engine that will produce around 260kW.

It sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox with the benefit of a limited-slip differential.

As part of the two-car purchase, Aston Martin will offer owners the chance to receive professional coaching from Aston Martin Le Mans class winner, Darren Turner.

Production of the DBS GT Zagato is set to begin in 2020 with deliveries in the fourth quarter of that year: almost 12 months after the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation models.
