Aston Martin has released pictures of its updated Vanquish S Volante.
Based on the Vanquish Volante, the new Vanquish S drop top, like the recently revealed coupe, comes powered by the same 5.9-litre V12 but with power wound up to 444kW – 20kW more than before.
Torque remains pegged at the non-S car's 630Nm but thanks to a retuned eight-speed auto, that's now claimed to shift quicker, the Volante S will be around 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard Vanquish and hit 100km/h in around 3.5 seconds.
For the 2018MY updates the British car maker's engineers have also tweaked the fast convertible's suspension. The changes are comprehensive of the car it's based.
The Vanquish S Volante comes with different spring rates, new dampers and revised anti-roll bar settings.
Aston claims the flagship droptop is sharper to drive in its firmest settings beside the non-S convertible.
Externally, the Volante S gets subtle changes with a new front splitter and re-profiled rear diffuser.
Look closely and you might also notice the latest Aston convertible now comes with a pair of quad tailpipes that replace the Vanquish's twin exhausts.
New options for the updated car include the option of having the door mirrors, bonnet louvres and door releases made from carbon-fibre.
There's also the choice of new 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the Volante S' interior carries over largely unchanged with the only exception being a longer list of optional finishes that include a new carbon-fibre finish for the centre console.
Prices are yet to be confirmed for Australian deliveries but since the regular Vanquish convertible is priced at $521,995 expect the more powerful S to weigh in well in excess of $600,000.
