Aston Martin reveals menacing Vanquish S

Gaydon outfit plies its GT range-topper with special sauce to create the 444kW Vanquish S

Aston Martin has replaced its Vanquish GT cruiser with a tougher, faster and sharper looking model called the Vanquish S.

To create the "S", Aston has heavily restyled the already striking Vanquish by fitting a more aggressive carbon front splitter and a bold rear diffuser. The styling tweaks are also said to reduce lift at the front of the car and reduce drag overall.

The new carbon diffuser also surrounds a new quad exhaust system which not only looks the absolute business, but is sure to make the naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 howl like never before.

Speaking of the V12, Aston has fitted a revised, "free-breathing" air intake system which pushes engine output up to 600hp, or 444kW to you and me. That's up from the regular 424kW and as a result, the Vanquish S can propel itself to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 323km/h.

That makes it one of the fastest series production Aston Martin's money can buy.

Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer said "In its second generation the Vanquish maintained that momentum with huge engineering advances such as its all-carbonfibre bodywork and compelling, contemporary styling.

"Now, the Vanquish S takes things a step further, confidently asserting itself within the Aston Martin range and distinguishing itself from the new DB11. A spectacular machine in every sense, the Vanquish S is a magnificent addition to our range."

Prices are yet to be confirmed for Australian deliveries but with regular Vanquish models priced at $484,995 for the coupe and $521,995 for the convertible, expect the Vanquish S to be somewhere in the region of $600,000.
