Aston Martin has released a single teaser of the 2025 Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger – a new special take on its fast GT that celebrates the very first James Bond film.
Announcing it will pull the drapes off the Aston Martin DB12 Goldfinger late tonight our time (October 14), the new teaser posted on its social media channels suggests Aston Martin will produce a DB12 that is inspired by Bond's Aston Martin DB5 from the film.
Captioning the short reel, that features clips from the 1964 film, with Bond's gadget man Q: "I never joke about my work 007", it's not known if the latest DB12 will be retrofitted with an ejector seat.
Originally, Bond's DB5 came with not only the ejector seat but a smoke machine, twin front machine gun, tyre slasher, revolving number plates, bullet proof glass and an on-board telephone.
Back in 2020 Aston Martin produced 25 James Bond continuation models that were each priced from more than $5m.
In Australia the car the new Goldfinger edition is based on – the 2024 Aston Martin DB12 – is priced from around $455,000 (plus on-road costs) for the coupe and $492,000 for the droptop Volante version.
Both come powered by a Mercedes-AMG sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V8 developing a whopping 500kW of power and 800Nm of torque.
Equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard, the DB12 is claimed to hit 100km/h in 3.6 seconds.
It's not the first time that Aston Martin in recent history has celebrated it linkage with the world's most famous secret agent.
Back in 2019 the car-maker's bespoke Q division created the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera 007 Edition that marked 50 years since the James Bond flick On Her Majesty's Secret Service has been premiered.
