Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 revealed

Bespoke Aston Martin V600 returns – but if you have to ask how much...

Aston Martin is nothing if not creative. Buyers will find hypercars, boats and even submarines in its portfolio, and you'd be forgiven for thinking it may even build electrified SUVs next! Wait a sec...

But it seems the car maker hasn't forgotten its traditional customers, revealing a classically-styled sports car in the form of the revived V600, a bespoke version of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage.

Built to a strict, limited run of only seven coupes and seven roadsters, the rare Vantage V600 was commissioned by a customer and sees the rebirth of the V8 Vantage V600 of 1998, according to Aston Martin.

The car maker’s personalisation service, "Q by Aston Martin", received the commission for 14 of these new V600's as a bespoke series of manual transmission V12 powerhouses.

Timeless design meets modern performance to recreate a work of automotive art

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's chief designer, said, "This is precisely why we created our 'Q by Aston Martin – Commission' service.

"The V600 name remains a classic in Aston Martin's heritage and I'm proud to see it adorn the V12 Vantage V600 once again," said Reichman.

Powered by a meaty 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 with an output of around 447kW (600PS), the V12 Vantage is out to prove that it is not the new kid on block, but a returning champion.

Aston Martin reckons the car is designed to fully immerse the driver and, as such, the new V600 is equipped exclusively with a seven-speed manual transmission, while front and rear dual wishbone suspension backed up with adaptive damping should provide decent handling chops.

The unique bonnet adds an extra dash of "I'm filthy rich"

The revival of the 1990s classic pays homage to its predecessor in the form of a muscular, bulging bonnet, but adds a modern twist with hood perforations, embracing form as well as function.

It’s easily distinguishable from Aston's current range of modern sports cars, such as the new Aston Martin Vantage and Aston Martin DB11, with its classic lines and creases.

The British sports car company says the striking sports car features a "full" carbon-fibre exterior, complete with a carbon front splitter and a rear diffuser that not only demands your attention, but holds it.

The driver is fully submerged in carbon-fibre and dark aluminium

The V600 comes with custom-made aluminium alloy wheels and a unique darkened grille with a ripple effect finish. Chances are you'll hear this thing coming before you see it, thanks to the new quad exhaust system.

Aston Martin’s Vantage V600 features a stark interior with all-new lightweight seats, a carbon-fibre centre console and a solid anodised aluminium gear lever.

"Our customers can create truly bespoke sports cars by personally collaborating with myself and Aston Martin’s design team," observed Reichman, pointing out that exterior and interior customisation is all part of the service.

Following the arrival of the DB11 and the new AMG-powered Vantage, the V12 Vantage V600 is set to be available upon request, with deliveries taking place the second half of 2018.

It's not clear how much one of these Aston Martin Vantage V600 sports car will set you back, but it's certain that mere mortals will not be able to afford one.
