Audi has teased the next instalment of its ‘Sphere’ future model design studies, taking to social media to provide a second bird’s-eye view of the Audi Grandsphere concept.
Few details have been revealed about the Grandsphere – which will debut online on September 2 ahead of its premiere at the Munich motor show a few days later – but senior executives did confirm back in July that it previews the German car-maker’s next-generation Audi A8 replacement due in 2025.
The Grandsphere is one of three new advanced design studies from Audi, joining the Skysphere – a shape-shifting sports car with Level 4 autonomy and a 465kW electric motor – which had its global debut earlier this month, along with the still-secret Urbansphere SUV concept.
From previous teasers, we already know the flagship Grandsphere will be beautifully appointed and blend traditional luxury with cutting-edge technology.
For example, there’s a mini-bar in the large centre console and a combination grab handle and dial that resemble an old-fashioned window winder.
The cabin is spacious, with special attention paid to the rear seat compartment – accessed via suicide doors that enable pillar-less entry – while tech highlights include an advanced full-electric powertrain and Level 4 autonomous driving functionality.
Audi says all three Sphere concepts will showcase its “vision for the future of progressive luxury”.
Stay tuned for all the latest from the 2021 Munich motor show, which will run from September 7-12.
