Audi's popular Q5 SUV offers an enhanced equipment list for the 2014 model year, worth up to $3550 in extra value.
The prestige importer has revealed that the four-cylinder models (both TDI and TFSI variants) are now fitted as standard with xenon headlights and three-zone climate control. And the 2.0-litre petrol engine has been upgraded to comply with the Euro 6 emissions standard, now boasting fuel economy of 7.9L/100km. V6 models (3.0 TDI/TFSI) for 2014 now ride on 19-inch alloy wheels and the lower bodywork (bumpers and side sills) is finished in body colour. The high performance SQ5 gains a space-saver spare as standard, and the shift paddles are larger than before.
Audi has also expanded the range of options available, by adding Digital Radio (DAB+) for $800, and Aluminium/Beaufort Black wood combination decorative inlays for $2500. The wood is the real deal and comprises five veneer strips.
"With almost 12,000 vehicles sold in Australia, the Q5 model is one of the most important models in our line-up," said Audi Australia MD, Andrew Doyle.
"The Audi Q5 is currently the fastest-selling premium SUV of its size in Australia, and now with the additional equipment upgrades we have brought to the car for 2014, we expect that the Q5 will maintain its leading position," he concluded.
2014 models officially go on sale this month. Prices are largely unchanged, with just the 2.0 TFSI variant rising in price – by $300.
