Audi launches TT in shadow of Brandenburg Gate

Audi's new TT was unveiled twice... First time larger than life!

Audi’s launch of the all-new TT last night in Berlin (see separate story here) was a gala affair. Conducted in the shadow of the Brandenburg Gate in the Platz des 18 Marz, the unveiling of the TT was dwarfed by the simultaneous unveiling of a giant car sculpture.

The scaled sculpture – two and half times the size of a ‘normal’ TT – is part of "Walk of Ideas", an exhibition of   six sculptures at prominent locations around Berlin as part of the Germany – Land of Ideas initiative. Audi is a sponsor of the initiative.

Around 500 guests attended the event including politicians, sports and motor racing stars and celebrities. The guests were welcomed by a delegation include the mayor of Berlin and  Prof Dr Martin Winterkorn, chairman of Audi.

With Audi's assistance, the 10m long and 3.25m high sculpture took eight weeks to build.
