Audi is secretly readying an RS 6 version of the A6 allroad, according to new reports.
The high-riding, quattro all-wheel drive RS 6 wagon could be Quattro GmbH's most niche product yet, and it's thought to be driven by emerging markets with poor road conditions.
Set to be powered by the same 412kW/700Nm 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo, the new RS 6 Allroad will offer the same devastating 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds with the added practicality of a raised ride height and under body armour of the regular allroad version, says German mag Auto Bild.
Claimed to be pencilled in for an on sale date next summer 2016, the high-riding RS 6 Avant might even be offered with the even more powerful 445kW/750Nm 'high performance' engine package that has already been confirmed in the second-quarter of 2016.
More information on the niche RS allroad is expected to arise following a potential unveil at the 2016 Geneva motor show in March 2016.
