Audi Australia has added 14 new variants to its local line-up in the form of a limited-edition Dynamic Black range, instilling many of the German premium brand’s core models with a bunch of visual and equipment enhancements – albeit for an extra $2800-$6500, depending on the model and grade.
Available on selected Audi A4, A5, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7 and Q8 variants, the Dynamic Black treatment removes all variant-denoting badging and throws in privacy glass to help darken the aesthetic, and adds a range of other model-specific upgrades.
In the case of the A4, these include black 19-inch Audi Sport wheels, metallic and/or pearlescent paint, black exterior badging, black C-pillar treatment, black roof rails for the Avant, colour ambient lighting package and a black headliner.
Audi A4 45 TFSI quattro vehicles up the ante further with red brake callipers, while the corresponding A5 Sportback also scores 20-inch wheels and the S Line interior package that adds S Sport seats, Nappa leather upholstery and front seat massage function.
A similar recipe is cooked up for the Q2 and Q3 Dynamic Black specials, which flaunt a variety of black 19-inch alloys, metallic paint (pearlescent is also available for Q3), black badging, black mirror caps and a black C-pillar treatment.
The Q3 goes one step further than its smaller SUV sibling by offering heated and power-adjustable front seats, coloured ambient lighting and aluminium trim inlays inside the cabin.
Q5 Dynamic Black variants meantime roll on matte-black 20-inch wheels as standard, paired with red brake callipers – save for the base Q5 35 TDI.
Equipment is stepped up by the colour ambient lighting package on all grades, while the 40 TDI quattro and 45 TFSI quattro nab an extended upholstery package, black interior colour and contrast stitching.
Further up the tree, the Q7 45 TDI Dynamic Black offers 22-inch wheels for the first time with the 45 TDI powerplant, and pairs the new hoops with black roof rails, wing mirrors, door sill trims and exterior badging.
Metallic paint is standard, as is rear privacy glass and the colour interior ambient lighting package.
The same is true of the Q8 50 TDI S Line and 55 TFSI S Line versions, except the wheels span 22 inches and feature a two-tone silver and matt black finish.
Side trim, wing mirrors, rear diffuser and the slimline roof rails are also finished in black, and contrast against the metallic and/or pearlescent paint finishes.
“These special models bring together a combination of striking design features that give the Dynamic Black range a tremendous road presence that will strike a chord with customers wanting a more sporty look for their Audi,” Audi Australia director Jeff Mannering said.
The first Dynamic Black variants are arriving in dealer showrooms now, meaning minimal wait times for buyers.
