Audi has announced that the long-awaited RS 3 Sportback will go on sale in Australia during October, priced at $78,900.
Powered by a turbocharged and direct-injected five-cylinder engine rated at 270kW and 465Nm, the RS 3 features a seven-speed S tronic (dual-clutch) transmission driving to all four wheels. Audi claims the RS 3 Sportback will dash to 100km/h from a standing start in 4.3 seconds and has already had praised heaped upon it by European correspondent Michael Taylor, after giving the hot-shoe hatch a fair workout.
For the local market, the RS 3 Sportback will come as standard equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights/tail lights, parking sensors, reversing camera, RS body kit, sports suspension, sports exhaust system, satellite navigation, MMI touch infotainment system control and sports front seats with electrically-adjustable lumbar support.
Additionally, the RS 3 Sportback will feature Audi Side Assist, premium audio with digital radio (DAB+), Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming, dual-zone climate control, combination leather/Alcantara upholstery for three-spoke multi-function sports steering wheel, transmission shift paddles, keyless entry/start and an alarm system.
