Audi RS e-tron ice racer previewed

A faster and more powerful version of the 2023 Audi RS e-tron GT, dubbed the Ice Race Concept, has been teased ahead of its official debut on May 28.

And the German car-maker has also revealed that it has created an all-electric retromod based on its 1984 Audi Sport quattro.

Posting on its Instagram and YouTube channels, Audi Sport has released no further details on either vehicle, but both have matching grey, purple and white wraps.

Expect the two cars to share powertrains, or at least feature the same twin electric motors, as it’s hard to see how engineers will package the Audi RS e-tron GT’s large 83.7kWh battery into the Audi Sport quattro’s ancient underpinnings.

There’s no word on power, but currently the standard RS e-tron GT produces 440kW and 830Nm of torque, which is enough to launch it from 0-100km/h in less than 3.3 seconds.

The faster take on the battery-electric Audi won’t match the standard car’s 504km range, but should be able to be charged at up to 270kW.

The short videos also reveal the special RS e-tron GT Ice Race Concept comes with white and black interior trim and Audi Exclusive badges, hinting that it has been created in partnership with the German brand’s bespoke division.
