Audi aims to boost the appeal of its TT Coupe with an S Line Competition package that adds a host of cosmetic tweaks and aero-enhancing aids, but no mechanical upgrades.
To be offered on 2.0-litre TFSI models from next year, the Competition package combines all the elements of the S line sport and the S line exterior package, along with a handful of additional features.
External clues that differentiate the S Line Competition Package-equipped TT include specially designed bumpers, air inlets and side sills, S line badges, tailpipe trims and a rear diffuser insert.
There’s also a fixed rear wing as per the five-cylinder Audi TT RS flagship, while
Xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights boost illumination.
There’s a strong gloss-black theme, as the colour features on the exterior mirror housings, the blade below the front bumper, the diffuser insert, the tailpipe trims and the rear wing spoiler.
In addition, the radiator grille is framed in high-gloss black while the radiator grille insert, the licence plate frame and the applications on the front fog light grille are matte black. The chunky 19-inch, five-spoke ‘Rotor’ rims are also painted black and shod with 255/35 series tyres.
Contrasting the noir theme is a paint pallet comprising hues such as Samoa Orange (metallic), Glacier White (metallic), Daytona Grey (pearl effect) and Misano Red (pearl effect).
Interior tweaks include extended aluminium-look trim, sport seats and a short-shift manual gearbox. As in the TT RS, the rim of the leather multifunction sport steering wheel is more strongly contoured and flat at the bottom.
The seats are trimmed as standard in Fine Nappa leather, and S line logos adorn the backrests.
Mirroring the black highlights on the exterior, the cabin is also largely black, with the matt brushed aluminium trim providing contrast. With the Samoa Orange exterior finish, the aluminium trim is replaced by inlays with a reflex finish in the body colour.
Although the existing (second-generation) TT is now more than five years old, it continues to be a steady niche seller for Audi, with 179 examples sold during the first half of this year (compared to 239 cars for the same period last year).
