It’s been a busy week for Audi Australia. The German prestige importer has taken the wraps off a total of four models, not the least of which is this one, the scorching TT RS plus.
Priced at $139,900 (plus on-road costs) the TT RS plus is Audi’s Renn Sport division’s hottest production version of the much-loved coupe. It ups power and torque by 15kW and 15Nm, taking the turbocharged five-cylinder TFSI engine’s output to a blistering total of 265kW and 465Nm.
The figures are enough to rocket the TT RS plus from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 280km/h. That’s two-tenths faster than the derivative TT RS model, and only just shy of Audi’s fastest accelerating production model, the V10-powered R8 supercar.
In spite of these impressive figures, the TT RS plus consumes just 8.5L/100km of premium unleaded on the combined-cycle test.
Performance is further bolstered by a lightweight Audi Space Frame body (1475kg), an S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, sports exhaust, magnetic dampers and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. Braking is managed by four-piston fixed calipers on cross-drilled rotors.
The TT RS plus is dressed with 19-inch five-spoke Rotor alloy wheels painted in black, and available as a no cost option with red rim flanges. The rims are shod with 255/35 series rubber which are forced to the ground via a fixed rear wing.
The Audi RS TT plus is on sale from today.
