Audi tweaks A4 Allroad quattro
Power hiked and fuel economy pared back for four-cylinder dieselAudi has fettled its A4 Allroad to boost engine output and reduce the fuel consumption in standard combined-cycle testing.
The 2015 model delivers 140kW and 400Nm, for official fuel consumption of just 5.6L/100km. That equates to a lift in peak power and torque of 10kW and 20Nm. Fuel consumption was formerly 6.0L/100km.
According to the prestige importer, the improved engine efficiency is the result of Audi engineers striving to better the minimum demand placed on them by the Euro 6 emissions standard.
Priced at $70,500, the A4 Allroad rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and features standard equipment including xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming, voice control, 10-speaker CD/DVD audio, seven-inch colour infotainment display and satellite navigation with 20GB hard drive.
Other features comprise electrochromatic mirror, electrically-adjustable leather-trimmed front seats, three-zone climate control, Attention Assist, eight airbags and fog lights, front and rear.
"The A4 allroad quattro is the perfect fit for those with an active lifestyle," said Audi Australia's General Manager of Marketing, Kevin Goult, as quoted in a press release.
"It excels in challenging conditions, including uneven, or low friction surfaces, dirt and gravel roads, plus it offers all the versatility of the A4 Avant body style.
"Now with this power increase and the efficiency gains, the 2015 A4 allroad quattro is an even more accomplished all-round performer."
