Tritium, an Aussie company building Veefill fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs), has opened an office in Torrance, California, to service growing markets in North and South America.
“Since we launched our first Veefil fast charger in 2013, North America has been one of our largest markets,” says Paul Sernia, commercial director of Tritium.
“As our market share has expanded significantly, and in line with our long-term strategy, we are opening regional facilities to maintain our high levels of customer support and engagement.
"The US office is an opportunity for us to build a local network of partners, who we will train to install and service the Veefil range. We will also manufacture our chargers in Torrance which, combined with a growing local network, will bring new jobs into the region.”
The Torrance office is the first of what Sernia hopes will be many around the world. Although it was only last year that Tritium secured funding from the Queensland state government, the company has been in operation for over 10 years. The company's chargers have already been sold into the USA, but the new office will ensure on-going support in the local market to bolster Tritium's expansion plans.
