Aussie motor industry insider launches exclusive range of products for drivers

With years of car and dealership heritage under her belt, Sydney-based Amanda Lintott has channelled her family’s automotive know-how, appreciation of design and love of driving into the development of a range of luxury products designed for drivers.

A modern take on car products and accessories, Autonomy which launched this year, has been developed and curated with sustainability and luxury in mind by Amanda Lintott, the daughter of highly respected Sydney car dealer and race driver Ray Lintott.

The range celebrates the pleasure of driving and includes premium quality must-haves including leather-covered phone charger cables, interior care kits, signature scents, blankets and luxury lumbar cushions. Not only are the products sleek and beautiful, but they're also all designed to fit perfectly within your car’s interior.

"I was born into the motor industry,” says Amanda. “My father was a car dealer with sites all across Sydney, but he also collected and raced cars all over the world.

“Of course, I understand cars, but what I really love is to drive. The freedom of a road trip, the quiet and comfort of my own space or the joy and togetherness when my car is full of kids, family and dogs. I love it all, but I knew something was missing.

“After years in the industry, I realised what was missing was a range of quality, well-designed products to complement cars of all brands, ages and stages. Simple and sustainable products that don't just make cars faster or shinier. Instead, products that help to protect and enjoy cars for all of our unique lifestyles."

The Lintott family’s connection to cars can be traced back to 1970 when car lover Ray and his wife Penny left the NSW country town of Wagga Wagga for Sydney and started a one-man business selling quality used cars under $500. This small business would evolve into Wagon Wheels and also move from selling station wagons, to panel vans and then 4WDs.

The group expanded and grew to occupy nine different sites across Sydney representing Ford, Nissan, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Kia, Renault, Citroen, Daihatsu, Daewoo, Skoda and Porsche. Sadly, Ray Lintott passed away in 2010 but left wife Penny and three children, all of whom worked in the family business at different times.

Amanda spent time in the Company head office working on associated businesses before helping with the start-up of Porsche Centre Sydney South. She went on to be the Dealer Principal for six years before it was sold to Porsche.

Autonomy products are available online at autonomyco.com.au and at the brand’s first retail installation at Sydney City Jaguar Land Rover, Sydney. A second installation is due to open in Melbourne in September.
