Aussie pricing revealed for BMW M6 Gran Coupe
Potent drivetrain dropped into slinky four-door for (just) under $300kPriced at $299,500, the new model is $7000 dearer than the two-door coupe with the same drivetrain, but $9000 cheaper than the M6 Convertible. That sort of money puts the buyer behind the wheel of a car powered by BMW's fiery 412kW twin-turbo V8, which produces 680Nm for a 0-100km time of 4.2 seconds. Fuel consumption is 9.9L/100km, which equates to a CO2 emissions figure of 232g/km in combined-cycle testing. BMW claims that extensive use of lightweight materials – including a carbon-fibre roof as in the M3 – and "optimised aerodynamic properties" (including a carbon-fibre rear diffuser) have played a major part in the new car's sub-10L/100km figure.
Drive is carried to the rear wheels via a seven-speed double-clutch transmission and an Active M differential. The M6 Gran Coupe rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and the suspension has been tweaked to provide the bespoke 'M' driving dynamics.
Standard features include four-zone climate control, roller sunblinds for the rear window and rear side windows, and an Alcantara roofliner featuring a centre section in leather.
