Aussie Strongman to pull 16 Hyundais in Guinness World Record attempt

One Strongman, 16 Hyundais and $30,000 for kids’ charity. All that stands in the way is a Guinness World Record.

Australian Strongman Troy Conley is attempting to break a world record by pulling 16 Hyundais along a runway in Sydney using only his hulking legs, barrel chest and massive arms as part of Car Pull for Kids charity event.

Conley is one of Australia’s top Strongmen and has previously pulled two prime mover trucks tied together weighing over 21 tonnes. He is hoping to break the current Guinness World Record of 15 vehicles pulled by an individual male and in doing so, raise much-needed funds for Hyundai Help for Kids’ partner charities Little Wings, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia. His goal is to raise $30,000.

Guinness’ rules say that the surface used must be completely flat so the record-breaking car pull will be attempted on the Southern Runway at Bankstown Airport. It will be the only world-record attempt in Australia and New Zealand on Global Guinness World Record Day which is Wednesday, November 18th 2020.

Conley will be roped up to 16 Hyundai vehicles including five i30s, two Venues, a Veloster, an Ioniq, Kona and Kona EV, a hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo, a Sonata, a Tucson, a Santa Fe and a new Palisade SUV.

Conley approached Hyundai Help for Kids, which since 2014 has raised $8.8m to help children in need and their families, about the fund-raising record attempt as he was inspired to help by his own fight for survival as a four-year-old when he ruptured a kidney.

You can find out more about this world record attempt at the Hyundai Help for Kids website and you can also donate to Troy Conley’s GoFundMe page here.

Good Luck Troy!
