Mitsubishi has started detailing its 2025 Outlander ahead of the updated SUV’s arrived Down Under next quarter, with the new version benefiting from an Australian-specific suspension and steering tune.
The locally honed chassis set-up headlines a series of meaningful upgrades to the market’s second-favourite medium SUV that extends to a new 12.3-inch infotainment system, the adoption of wireless Android Auto (joining CarPlay), Yamaha audio systems, connected services and a revised exterior design.
All these enhancements will no doubt inflate the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander’s asking price, but not as much as the PHEV’s new 22.7kWh battery pack and power bump will for the electrified variants.
No changes have been made to the base 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or the CVT it operates through, though the top-flight GSR trim will be temporarily retired before it’s rolled back out later in the lifecycle.
Speaking about the new local ride and handling tune, Mitsubishi’s local product boss, Bruce Hampel, said Australia was a core market for the brand across all vehicle segments, not just the booming dual-cab ute sector.
“Australian market feedback played a significant role in further improving the updated Outlander’s steering, ride and handling, tuning it to further suit Australian conditions and buyer requirements with a new tyre specification,” he said.
“There’s also an incredible new suite of Yamaha audio systems that further enhance the driving experience, while the refreshed exterior, new alloy wheel designs, interior and improved infotainment systems add further presence and sophistication.”
Full pricing and specification details will be announced closer to launch.
