Imagine Coachella meets Moomba meets Melbourne food and wine festival – it’s social media nirvana as Australia’s social royalty hit ludicrous-mode at the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
Well aware of the fact there’s a thriving social scene at the F1 GP, carsales got some tips from the 2017 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix event ambassador model Brooke Hogan on surviving race day in the most insta-worthy way possible.
If you’ve never been to the F1, let alone one at Albert Park Lake, ‘exciting and exhilarating’ sets the tone nicely for this four-day event, explains Hogan.
“There is so much going on both on and off the track. There are people everywhere and so many different activations to visit whilst listening to the roaring sound of the F1’s going around the track!”
The Paddock Club for instance, situated directly above the F1 team garages trumps all others with its exclusive, ‘members only’ feel. You’ll feast on the food of champions thanks to the ‘Chef's Collective’, a collaboration between some of Melbourne's very best, including Guy Grossi, Shane Delia, Victor Liong, Adam D’Slyva, Jacques Reymond & Darren Purchese. There’s alcohol too!
It offers the most discerning F1 attendees the most exclusive and, potentially, glamorous space at the Melbourne F1 – and it’s where you’ll find Hogan on race day. But don’t despair, Hogan says “One of the best spots for fans to watch all the action is Brocky’s Hill which has epic views of the track!”

The hospitality suites at the track are may, including Renault’s Torque Bar, Brabham Skybox or Fangio Lounge, all of which offer varying degrees of conspicuous consumption – as well as good views.
But glamour at the track is not easy – Instagram will also attest to that! Hogan’s trackside fashion tips reaffirm what any true fashionista knows. It’s all about the shoes.
“Even though the event is becoming more and more glamorous every year, days at the track are long and there is lots of walking involved, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes!” she jokes. Not.
If for some reason you venture beyond the well-fenced confines of your hospitality tent, there are other attractions. Apparently. Hogan’s top three reasons to visit the F1 are:
“Obviously the racing! Hopefully we see Dan Ricciardo up on the podium doing a shoey at his home Grand Prix on the Sunday.”
“M-Lane: A custom laneway featuring some of Melbourne’s best food, street art and live music!”
“Fashion: The GP really does rival that of Spring Racing! But as mentioned above -- wear comfortable shoes!”
We know the day comes and goes way too fast, so to ensure the world sees just how much fun you’re having (repeatedly) at this year’s GP, be hashtag ready.
Partial to a social post, Hogan suggests #AusGP #F1 #F1ForReal #Melbourne #OOTD #fashion will get you there.
While Hogan may be a fitness model and health-food advocate, this self-confessed chocolate lover is looking forward to some of the food M-Lane has to offer. “I think Sliders on Tyres will be a real favourite with fans.” she says.
There really is something for everyone at the 2017 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix on now!
