A 1961 Citroën HZ Van fully equipped and ready to go as a mobile coffee business has been put up for auction at the upcoming Shannons Spring Timed Online Auction. Not only is this classic French catering van a coffee shop on wheels, but it is also fitted out with the equipment to dispense Prosecco, Draught Beer and Cider.
According to Shannons, the Citroën HZ Van started life in France before a stint in the UK then travelled all the way down under to Perth in 2017. Called the ‘Little Brass Van’, it has got received endorsement from legendary Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who tested out the taps when the van was parked out the front of their concert in 2018.
The van is fully set up inside with a massive SAB coffee machine (worth $7K), three taps to dispense alcohol, an onboard generator, waste tanks and serving counters. Still in its original left-hand drive, the ‘Little Brass Van’ is finished in a coffee brown colour and has a full-sized serving window on the left-hand side.
The Citroën Van even comes with the Trading Licence to trade under “Little Brass Van” for the potential buyer to use.
Citroën’s H Van is a legend in Europe, built between 1947 and 1981. The H Van was a simple panel van with a unitary body and no separate frame, with a flat floor close to the ground it has 180 cm standing height and a side loading door.
The 1961 Citroën H Series 2 Van has no reserve and is expected to fetch between $45,000 - $55,000.
