Tokyo-based Idemitsu, Japan’s leading motor oil brand, has officially landed on Aussie shores looking to make inroads into the competitive oils market. Known for its precision-engineered oils, Idemitsu says it is bringing its expertise to the Australian market with a product uniquely formulated to match the engines of Japanese-made cars.

With Japanese vehicles consistently ranking in the top 10 most popular cars sold in Australia, the brand said it was a logical new market to bring their product to. According to Idemitsu, the IFG series motor oil formulations offer "one-millionth of a millimetre precision," tailored specifically to the technical needs of Japanese engines.
“We feel great pride in launching our world-class Idemitsu IFG series of Nano Tailored Oils so that Australian consumers can enjoy a superior driving experience,“ said Noriaki Ito, General Manager, Lubricants department at Idemitsu Kosan.

“Our engine oil range delivers a high-performance driving experience, which helps bring out the full, lively potential of engines for driving either in stop-and-go city conditions or the winding roads found around Australia” continued Ito.
The company, which has been around since 1911, already has a presence in Australia primarily through mining, renewables and decarbonisation as well as the Freedom Fuels servo network. Australia joins over a dozen other markets outside of Japan to offer the IFG passenger vehicle oils.

As well as the flagship IFG 7, IFG 5 and IFG 3 series oils, the brand will also introduce the IFG Plantech Racing Oil which is formulated with over 80 per cent plant-based raw materials. The Product has obtained API (American Petroleum Institute) SP certification, making it the world's first engine oil with racing performance and API SP certification using plant-based raw materials.
Idemitsu's IFG 7, IFG 5 and IFG 3 series oils for petrol vehicles start from $19.99 are now available direct from their website. There are plans to introduce the product into retail and mechanics in the future.
