British hotel chain Premier Inn researched over 500 global cities on Instagram to find out which locations were the most popular places to post a photo at, as well as the number of hashtags for #springin (city). The hashtag was counted and compared for cities here in Australia as well as in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East.
Easily browsing the hashtags will show you how vibrant, beautiful and photogenic all cities were during spring, even in the midst of a global pandemic, stay at home orders and border closures. Something to look forward to as we approach the cooler months ahead.

Globally, Australia fares pretty well for placing in the top 10 most Instagrammed cities during spring, especially with our much smaller population. London takes the top spot followed by the usual suspects of Paris and New York. Melbourne placed in seventh followed by Sydney in eighth. We obviously love posting a selfie on the ‘gram at a tulip festival, Floriade or amongst the floral street installations.
