Australia's most powerful van for $100 per week

LDV has rolled out a keenly priced finance offer on its power-packed G10 van

Australia’s most powerful van is on sale. Until the end of November, approved ABN holders can get behind the wheel of a new LDV G10 van for $100 a week and no deposit via a promotion from the van's local importer and distributor, Ateco Automotive.

Backed by a three-year, 100,000 kilometre factory warranty and roadside assistance, the rear-drive G10 recently joined the V80 in LDV's local line-up. With the recent departure of the V6 engine from Mercedes-Benz's Vito family, LDV is claiming the G10 is Australia's most powerful van.

The G10 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine rated at 165kW and 330Nm. That urge is fed to the coil-sprung rear-end via a ZF six-speed automatic transmission.

The G10 is based on LDV's G10 People Mover, available in Australia in both seven- and nine-seater formats, and it comes in the one 3198mm wheelbase with a sub-2.0m roof height. LDV’s larger V80 van offers three roof heights, two wheelbases and van and bus derivatives.

The G10 also boasts an internal volume of 5.2 cubic metres and a 1093kg payload, with its load bay accessed via a top-hinged rear door and two sliding side doors.

While the G10 is yet to be rated by ANCAP, the van does come with front airbags, stability control, antilock brakes, roll mitigation and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Amenities include air conditioning, power steering, cruise control, electric mirrors, 16-inch alloys, a multimedia system with LCD touch screen, stereo and Bluetooth telephony, reversing camera and parking sensors.

LDV is owned by Chinese behemoth SAIC, which claims to be the country's largest auto maker and is said to have produced over five million vehicles in 2013 alone.

SAIC purchased LDV from British Motor Corporation in 2009 – while the V80 design can trace its roots back to its British forebears, the G10 is the first all-new LDV produced under SAIC ownership.
