Five car key finders you need to know about

There are plenty of key finders on the market that will make sure you’re never left stranded on the street wondering where you left your keys again.

Picture this – it’s Monday morning, you’re running late to work, and juggling your coffee cup and work documents before you finally manage to get out the door with everything you need only to reach your car and discover your Monday nightmare continues and you can’t find your keys!

If you’re wondering how many times I’ve been through this myself, you’re wondering right, however the one thing I didn’t have in my hour of need (and unbelievable frustration) was a key finder! Here are five key finders to consider.

Orbit – The Key Finder

Not only are you able to find your keys and wallet, this nifty little thing will even take a selfie for you, acting as a remote for your camera. With an aluminium waterproof case, this gadget also has a replaceable battery, and uses Bluetooth technology in conjunction with a free app to help figure out where your keys are.

Much like similar products on the market, when out of range, Orbit will show you the last known GPS location, so you can work out where you left your keys last. Lost phone? No worries with Orbit, which will make your phone ring (even when it’s on silent!) to help track it down.

Tile Mate

This product has been voted the number one best-selling Bluetooth tracker on the market, and for a very good reason! Tile Mate was among the first to look at how the use of Bluetooth technology can help us when some of our most valuables items – like wallets and keys – go missing.

The now-iconic white rectangle gadget is now 25% smaller than its predecessor, with the company also making it less bulky and extending the range and where it can go. Reviews on the latest version of Tile Mate also attest to the battery lasting 365 days, so you don’t need to stress about it losing charge within the year.

Using a smartphone app, you’re able to locate your missing items, with Tile Mate playing a loud tune to help you find it! Because we’re also heading into 2020 and the future is now, these days you’re also able to stick Tile Mate to you phone to activate the ringer.

Despite being in the future, there is always the possibility of your belongings being out of range, but never fear, Tile Mate is able to bring up location history which is helpful when trying to think of where you last had it! There’s also an extensive Tile Mate community, where you’re able to report a missing item via the app, and if it’s close, one of five million other Tile Mate users also have the ability to report a location to help you find it.

KeyRinger

One of the most important aspects of a key finder is being able to actually HEAR where your missing items are and this is where KeyRinger comes in to help… and very loudly!

Dubbed the “loudest key finder” on the market, it’s able to help you in those times you’re in a noisy environment, or maybe when you’re in the quietest of all the rooms and you’re ready to scare yourself silly.

The devices aren’t as small of the Tile Mate, with KeyRinger roughly the size of a USB and designed to the be the only thing attached to your keys. It works as a pair with it’s own mate, with one device calling the other.

The loud screeching is sure to grab your attention and let you know where your missing keys are, regardless of where it has managed to hide! Battery life is slightly above-average too at 18 months, and is easily replaced when it is time to change the battery.

NutTAG Anti-Lost Tag

While we may not have hover boards heading into this new decade, smartphone apps are playing a larger role in our lives, and this is where NutTAG excels.

The Anti-Lost Tag app will beep and show you when it’s been disconnected, and while it may not grab your attention instantly like KeyRinger does, don’t stress. It’ll keep track of your movements, so you’re able to backtrack on yourself to find what you’re looking for!

Once again, there’s an online community who are available to also help fill you in on the location of your lost devices.

You can attach the smart tracker to keys, remotes, and even pets! Because it’s a low-energy battery, it’ll last for up to 10 months, with replacement batteries inexpensive and easy to change.

For the times when there is more than one in the family who has a habit of losing their keys! With four colorful receivers and one transmitter, the family pack is broken up into two flat receivers and two key ring receivers, so everyone’s key finder needs are met!

The flat transmitters can also be attached to other items, like laptops, if you have a child with a habit of losing their school computer!

Easy to use, to find the lost object, simply press the colour-coded button and a radio frequency will go through walls and cushions to trigger the loud beeping sound and flashing light.

Despite only reaching around 25 metres, it still has enough range to find what you’re looking for within your own home. The latest model is also made from a durable material that isn’t going to snap in pockets or backpacks, and has a 90-decibel siren, which is definitely loud enough to draw your attention to where it’s sitting!
