Luckily there’s a range of apps to help you find a spot close to where you need to be and even let you pay without needing to scrounge around for spare coins.
The Divvy parking app provides spaces in commercial buildings and gives drivers exclusive access to those spaces. These spaces aren't necessarily connected to a major car parking company either so it is like the Airbnb of parking. You need to set-up an account in order to book, and secure a spot, but once you do, you can gain access, and not need to stress about finding a park!
Wilson Parking App lets you see where to find Wilson Parking stations, and allows you to pay and book a spot online before arriving. Saves time fumbling for coins at the always busy Pay Station too.
Meanwhile if you’re visiting the ACT, Parkmobile will be very handy, especially if you never carry any cash on you. When it comes to paid parking around the nation’s capital, you’ll find a number on the parking meters – simply pop that into the app, select how long you’d like to be there for, and it gets charged to your credit or debit card – no need for change! It’ll also send you notifications once your parking has started, and when you have 10 minutes left.
It says it all in the name – Cheap Parking will compare prices of parking near you, and help you find the cheapest space, which is handy when it comes to costly city parking! It’s regularly updated, so you’re not likely to spot something even cheaper after paying, and the app is free to download.
Similar to Cheap Parking, Park Me offers a massive database of information from around the world, servicing nearly 2000 cities internationally. It allows you to check pricing and compare rates and depending on your location, even see how many free spaces are left. It also offers a load of detailed information including entrance points, accepted payment types, and photos so you don’t accidentally drive past the car park.
